Pollster Warns Democrats' Anti-Trump Antics Turning Off Voters

A former Clinton advisor and pollster has cautioned that the Democrats’ ongoing resistance to President Donald Trump is leading to record lows in their poll numbers.

Mark Penn, appearing on ‘Fox & Friends,’ expressed concern over the Democrats’ behavior during Trump’s address to Congress. Penn, who has experience with numerous States of the Union, noted that Democrats failed to applaud at appropriate moments, a move he described as amateurish and detrimental to their public image.

During the speech, multiple Democrats, including Rep. Al Green from Texas, caused disruptions. Green, who has filed impeachment articles against Trump, was removed from the chamber after shouting and waving his cane at the president. This incident, along with other Democrats’ refusal to stand and applaud for guests like 13-year-old cancer survivor DJ Daniel, has drawn criticism from Republican lawmakers.

Sen. Katie Britt of Alabama expressed disappointment in her Democratic colleagues for not showing support for the recognized Americans, calling the moment ‘heartbreaking.’

Despite the disruptions, Trump’s speech highlighted his accomplishments and vision for the future, which Penn claims has been gradually winning over the public. In contrast, Penn suggested that the Democratic Party and the legacy of former President Joe Biden are in decline.

The official Democratic response was delivered by Sen. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, who criticized Trump’s handling of the war in Ukraine and his pursuit of a peace deal with Russia. Slotkin, referencing President Ronald Reagan, implied that Trump’s approach would have led to a loss in the Cold War.

Penn’s analysis indicates that the Democrats’ actions during Trump’s address may have significant political repercussions, as their poll numbers continue to suffer.
