Phil Mickelson Applauds Elon Musk's Efforts in Government Efficiency

Phil Mickelson took to social media to express his gratitude towards Elon Musk for his contributions to America’s fiscal responsibility through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

In a recent social media post, legendary golfer Phil Mickelson praised Elon Musk for his role at the helm of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Since its inception under President Donald Trump, DOGE has been instrumental in identifying and eliminating waste, fraud, and corruption within the federal government.

Mickelson’s post read, “It’s incredibly kind and generous of Elon Musk to help America become fiscally responsible. We all owe him a huge debt of gratitude.” He went on to draw a parallel with Nikola Tesla, hoping that Musk would receive due appreciation during his lifetime, unlike Tesla.

Musk’s efforts have reportedly led to significant savings, with DOGE announcing daily savings exceeding $4 billion. Recently, the agency deactivated over 200,000 unused or unnecessary credit cards linked to federal agencies, following a thorough audit.

During Trump’s first Cabinet meeting last month, Musk outlined his ambitious goal of finding $1 trillion in savings to reduce the national debt, which stands at approximately $36.5 trillion. He emphasized the unsustainable nature of the country’s $2 trillion deficits and expressed confidence in achieving these savings unless hindered.

Mickelson, who joined the LIV Golf league backed by Saudi investors in 2022, made these comments shortly after becoming the oldest major winner in history at the 2021 PGA Championship.
