Trump Orders Release of JFK Assassination Files, Promises Transparency

President Donald Trump has mandated the declassification and release of thousands of files related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, aiming to shed light on one of America’s most enduring mysteries.

In a move that has reignited public interest in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, President Donald Trump announced the release of approximately 80,000 previously classified documents. The announcement was made during a visit to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., where Trump emphasized his commitment to transparency.

“While we’re here, I thought it would be appropriate, we are, tomorrow, announcing and giving all of the Kennedy files. So, people have been waiting for decades for this, and I’ve instructed my people… lots of different people, [director of national intelligence] Tulsi Gabbard, that they must be released tomorrow,” Trump stated. He further insisted on minimal redactions, saying, “You got a lot of reading. I don’t believe we’re going to redact anything. I said, ‘just don’t redact, you can’t redact,’”

The release of these documents is part of a broader executive order signed by Trump in January, which also includes the declassification of documents related to the assassinations of Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. The move has been welcomed by historians and researchers, who hope the documents will provide new insights into the events of November 22, 1963, when JFK was assassinated in Dallas.

Forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden, who was involved in the original investigation, expressed optimism about the potential revelations. “Expectations are that the 14,000 documents that will be released by President Trump may shed a light on the various mistakes or disinformation that have circulated since,” Baden told Fox News Digital. He highlighted the long-standing conspiracy theories and the need for clarity, noting that the full report from the congressional investigation was never released.

The decision to release the files has sparked discussions on national security and the potential embarrassment to intelligence agencies. Dr. Baden pointed out that concerns about the safety of confidential informants and the reputation of agencies like the CIA and FBI might have delayed the release of these documents. However, he also suggested that the files could clarify the involvement of other entities, such as the mafia or foreign governments, in the assassination.

As the nation awaits the full release of these documents, the hope is that they will provide a clearer picture of one of the most pivotal moments in American history, potentially resolving decades of speculation and controversy surrounding the death of President John F. Kennedy.
