Trump Lashes Out at Rep. Jasmine Crockett Over 'Governor Hot Wheels' Remark

Former President Donald Trump fiercely criticized Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett for her derogatory comments about Texas Governor Greg Abbott, labeling her a ’lowlife.'

In a recent interview with conservative radio host Vince Coglianese, former President Donald Trump did not hold back his feelings about Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett’s recent comments about Texas Governor Greg Abbott. Trump’s remarks came after Crockett referred to Abbott, who uses a wheelchair, as ‘Governor Hot Wheels’ during a speech at a Human Rights Campaign dinner in Los Angeles.

Trump called Crockett a ’lowlife’ and questioned her intelligence, stating, ‘But she’s a lowlife, and she’s a very low-IQ person.’ He further speculated that the Democratic Party would struggle if they promoted someone like Crockett to a leadership position, saying, ‘They’ll never win an election again. It would be very hard.’

Crockett’s remarks at the dinner targeted Abbott’s policies, particularly his use of transportation to move migrants into communities led by Black mayors. However, she later clarified on social media that her comments were not intended to mock Abbott’s disability but rather his political actions. Despite this, Trump and others, including Coglianese, accused her of lying about her intentions.

The episode has sparked a broader conversation about political rhetoric and respect towards individuals with disabilities. Governor Abbott, who has been in a wheelchair since a 1984 accident, responded on Fox News, criticizing the Democrats for resorting to ‘hate’ without substantive policy proposals.

As the controversy unfolds, it remains to be seen how this will affect Crockett’s political future and the broader discourse within her party. Trump’s comments have certainly added fuel to the fire, highlighting the intense political divisions that continue to play out in public forums.
