Trump Criticizes Judge Boasberg's Assignment to Multiple Trump-Related Cases

Former President Donald Trump has publicly criticized Judge James Boasberg for being assigned to yet another case related to his administration, questioning the fairness of judicial assignments.

In a recent post on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump expressed his frustration and disbelief over Judge James Boasberg’s assignment to a fourth case connected to his administration. Boasberg, who serves as the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, was recently assigned to oversee a lawsuit against several Trump administration officials and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). This lawsuit, brought by the watchdog group American Oversight, aims to prevent the alleged unlawful destruction of federal records and to ensure the preservation of records created through the use of the Signal app for national security decisions.

Trump’s criticism of Boasberg is not new. The former president has previously accused Boasberg of bias, citing his involvement in other Trump-related cases, including a lawsuit challenging Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. Trump has labeled Boasberg as suffering from “Massive Trump Derangement Syndrome” and suggested that his family ties create a conflict of interest.

In his latest social media outburst, Trump questioned the integrity of the judicial assignment process, referring to the traditional “wheel” system where judges are supposedly chosen at random. He claimed that it is statistically impossible for one judge to be assigned so many cases related to him, hinting at a rigged system. Trump went further to call for an investigation into what he perceives as corruption and radicalism within the courts, particularly in Washington, D.C., and New York.

Earlier this month, Trump had demanded Boasberg’s impeachment, referring to him as a “Radical Left Lunatic of a Judge” and a “troublemaker and agitator.” The ongoing legal battles and Trump’s vocal criticisms continue to fuel debates about judicial impartiality and the fairness of the legal system in handling politically charged cases.
