FBI Director Kash Patel Targets Chinese Influence on U.S. Farmlands
FBI Director Kash Patel has declared a strong focus on eradicating Chinese influence on American farmlands, citing it as a critical issue for both food supply and national security.
FBI Director Kash Patel is intensifying efforts to address the influence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on U.S. soil, particularly focusing on the ownership of American farmlands. Patel’s initiative is part of a broader second-term strategy by the Trump administration to confront CCP activities within the United States. This move has garnered support from Republican lawmakers and conservative groups, who view CCP-connected land ownership as a direct threat to national security and critical infrastructure.
Patel’s advisor, Erica Knight, emphasized his commitment to this cause, stating, “FBI Director Kash Patel has made eradicating CCP interference and infiltration in the United States a relentless, uncompromising priority.” Knight praised Patel’s background in counterterrorism and intelligence, highlighting his unique qualifications to lead the FBI in tackling these challenges.
The issue of Chinese-owned farmland has been a growing concern, with President Donald Trump acknowledging the long-standing issue and expressing his ongoing attention to it. In a recent statement aboard Air Force One, Trump mentioned his respect for Chinese President Xi Jinping but stressed the importance of addressing the issue of Chinese-owned farmland.
Legislative efforts are also underway to curb foreign ownership of sensitive U.S. lands. In March, Senator Mike Rounds introduced the PASS Act, aimed at preventing entities from countries like China from purchasing agricultural land near military bases or other sensitive sites. Additionally, Republican senators proposed the Not One More Inch or Acre Act, which would mandate the sale of land owned or influenced by the CCP if deemed a national security risk.
As the FBI under Patel’s leadership continues to prioritize this issue, the administration’s focus on countering Chinese influence on U.S. soil remains a key component of its national security strategy.
