Trump Praises Border Security and Tariff Successes in Fox News Interview

In an exclusive Fox News interview, President Donald Trump highlighted his administration’s achievements in border security and economic policies, expressing pride in the progress made since his return to office.

During his discussion with Fox News’ Rachel Campos-Duffy, President Trump emphasized the significant strides his administration has made in securing the U.S. border. He claimed that the border is now ‘100% perfect’ and anticipates further improvements. Trump reiterated his stance on immigration, stating that while the U.S. welcomes immigrants, they must enter the country legally, a sentiment he believes is universally agreed upon.

Trump’s focus on border security aligns with his campaign promises, and recent data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection supports his claims. The agency reported a significant decrease in illegal border crossings, with March seeing fewer apprehensions than the first two days of the same month in 2024 under the previous administration. This marks the second consecutive month with historically low daily apprehensions.

In addition to border security, Trump discussed the economic successes of his administration, particularly the implementation of tariff policies. He boasted about the billions of dollars in tariffs collected from other countries, which he described as a response to decades of economic exploitation of the United States. Trump also mentioned the recent ‘Liberation Day’ tariff plan, which includes a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs for countries open to trade negotiations, while increasing tariffs on China.

The president expressed satisfaction with various accomplishments, including Congress’s work on the ‘Big, Beautiful Bill,’ aimed at tax cuts and deregulation. Trump’s interview with Fox News underscores his administration’s focus on strengthening national security and economic policies.
