Elon Musk Transitions from White House Role to Focus on Tesla

Elon Musk, who led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is shifting his focus back to Tesla after working remotely from the White House.

Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has begun transitioning away from his role at the White House to dedicate more time to Tesla. According to reports from the New York Post, Musk, who served as an unpaid special government employee, is no longer working regularly from the White House but remains involved with DOGE remotely. The White House had previously confirmed that Musk’s plan was to refocus on Tesla once his work at DOGE was complete.

During his tenure, Musk aimed to reduce the federal deficit by a trillion dollars, a goal he believes DOGE has significantly progressed towards. In interviews, Musk has expressed confidence that most of the required work to achieve this financial objective would be accomplished within the standard 130-day term for special government employees. Furthermore, his efforts with DOGE have led to the slashing of over $100 million in wasteful spending at the Education Department, highlighting his impact on government efficiency.

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles emphasized that Musk’s remote working arrangement did not hinder the progress of DOGE’s goals. “Instead of meeting with him in person, I’m talking to him on the phone, but it’s the same net effect,” Wiles stated, underscoring the continuity of Musk’s contributions despite his physical absence from the White House. As Musk steps back from DOGE to focus on Tesla, his team continues to operate from the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, ensuring ongoing efforts in government efficiency.
